Logistics Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Develop and implement logistics plans that may affect the production, distribution, and inventory of finished products to enhance product flow. Conduct distribution and network studies, monitor inventory, and analyze requirements to develop strategies to achieve times and order fill rates. Maintain appropriate records and prepare reports. Coordinate logistics activities with internal and external clients. Apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. Work with minimal supervision, conferring with superiors on unusual matters and assignments that are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with the generation of engineering reports and analyses as they relate to FMS cases, including data on selected ships, systems, or equipment applicable to a specific FMS case, or information relative to FMS country owned ships, systems, equipment, spares, and future supportability

-Knowledge of all shipboard systems, including hull, mechanical, and electrical, combat systems, and communications

-Ability to research material sources, estimate costs and delivery lead times, and determine suitable substitutes for material identified by port engineers, as required to support maintenance

-Ability to prepare supporting logistics documentation, including reports, briefings, plans, and procedures at the government’s direction, such as summary reports on key logistics issues and their resolution

-Ability to participate in technical and logistics meetings concerning naval systems and other equipment for ships and shore-based facilities

-Ability to provide logistical oversight in coordination with the port engineers to resolve logistics issues arising during systems life cycle

-Ability to interface with NAVSEA PARMS, In-Service Engineering Agents, and OEMs

-Ability to assist port engineers with coordinating logistics support for the coordination of technicians visiting other regional countries that may aid in-country for repair of host Navy equipment arranged by COCOMs and others

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-HS diploma or GED required

Additional Qualifications:

-10 years of experience with US Navy supply chain management or logistics preferred

-BA or BS degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management preferred
