Logistics Engineer, Mid

Key Role: 

Provide Air Force and commercial supply chain expertise to an integrated logistics team supporting a suite of legacy Air Force Space Warning and Surveillance System radars. Conduct parts research, locate suitable substitutes or alternative sources of supply.  Minimize client cost in sustaining radar systems through effective exploitation of all possible sources of supply. Maintain responsibility for awareness of industrial base and stockage levels of electric, and electromechanical parts required to maximize system availability. Investigate opportunities for commonality across disparate radar systems. Participate in team efforts to develop and manage life cycle sustainment programs for radars. Comprehend, analyze, and report trends in industrial technology, including Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) for radar components. 


Basic Qualifications:

-4 years of experience with Logistics

-Knowledge of DoD, USAF, DoD client supply chain management systems, including all catalogs, databases, and parts ordering systems

-Ability to investigate, analyze, and report parts availability, suitable substitutes, cross reference commercial or DoD part numbers 

-Ability to conduct parts research via commercial parts management or logistics systems

-Ability to synthesize parts research from a variety of sources to present a holistic picture of parts availability, and to develop best practices and procedures for minimization of sustainment costs

-Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with IHS Haystack and BOM Intelligence

-Experience with IT solution

-Ability to comprehend, interpret, and deconstruct and reconstruct a large Bill of Materials (BOM)

-Ability to convert a raw BOM into a properly indentured BOM 

-BA or BS degree in Logistics

-Supply Chain Management Certificate, or equivalent preferred
