Marketing Copywriter/Editor

Key Role:
Support a high profile client as a marketing copywriter, including providing copy for print materials that reach millions of Americans. Develop and edit content for printed and digital mediums using the organization’s voice. Provide written content to convey valuable client information that engages and motivates the reader to do something, including purchase a product or service. Manage reviews and edit content for clarity and conciseness. Assist with tailoring key messages and content to the specific interests of the target audience. Provide recommendations for best mediums to promote a variety of services. Manage work on special projects, as needed. Interact with the client’s internal customer representatives concerning projects, content decisions, or scheduling requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in interacting with content or site owners directly to collect or document requirements

-Experience in meeting with client stakeholders to plan, collect and document their content requirements

-Experience with developing direct mail, sales, social media, event and marketing content

-Experience in collaborating with graphics designers on direct mail, print pieces,and content marketing and engaging customers across the country

-Experience with developing and maintaining all documentation and processes associated with copywriting

-Ability to edit all materials for accurate presentation of marketing information and grammar, spelling, and punctuation

-Ability to conduct very thorough quality assurance checks on content

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with creative idea generation and problem solving

-Experience with high-level organization, planning, and goal setting

-Knowledge of the communication development process, including creative and print production processes

-Knowledge of the marketing, consumer behavior, and print industries

-Knowledge of Adobe InCopy a plus

-Ability to pay strict attention to detail

-Ability to track communication and design projects from start to finish

-Ability to tolerate ambiguity and manage multiple projects at once

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including copy editing

-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills, including effective and professional e-mail communication
