Materials Scientist Consultant

Key Role:

Serve as an expert in materials suitable for extreme environments. Act as a technical consultant to a government research and development client.  Provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior decision-makers, including conducting background research in evaluating the feasibility, and the defense applications of new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients, assist with technical program management and program development, and brief materials out for government R&D efforts. Work with world-class scientists in driving forward groundbreaking research efforts that either develop applications for novel chemicals or exploit cutting edge chemistry for new applications. Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with research related to materials science and engineering

-2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-PhD degree in Material Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field

Additional Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience as part of a team that transitioned new materials to applications.

-Experience with defense research and development

-Knowledge of materials for extreme environments, structural materials, or composites

-Possession of excellent client service skills
