Mechanical Engineer

Key Role:
Leverage nuclear subject matter expertise and program management support to the client's Nuclear Surety and Certification Division across all nuclear sustainment and acquisition programs and systems. Provide engineering program management support to ensure nuclear certification standards are met in accordance with applicable directives. Provide engineering expertise by reviewing, analyzing, or coordinating on several certification documents. Review and conduct nuclear certification tasks and coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel, technical writers, and other technicians in the performance of developing approved nuclear certification packages for tactical and strategic aircraft systems and strategic missile systems. Perform mechanical and hardware analysis of design requirements for nuclear weapons interface with delivery platforms.


Basic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with engineering
-Experience with program management and nuclear certification
-Experience with project management in a DoD or DoE environment
-Experience in supporting nuclear weapons or environments
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with tactical and strategic nuclear weapons systems and interfaces
-Experience with DoD and Air Force nuclear certification governance, including DoD 3150.02 and AFI 63-125
-Experience with nuclear weapons systems and associated delivery platforms
-Experience with strategic missile systems and associated nuclear surety directives, as applied to certification
-Experience with business process analysis and development
-Experience with military protocol, tactics, techniques, and procedures, and current concepts of operations
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent organizational and time management skills
-Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
-TS/SCI clearance preferred
-BS degree in ME preferred; MS degree in ME a plus
