Mechanical/Structural Project Engineer

Key Role:

Support all system, manufacturing, quality engineering, and integration tasks for the New Entrant Certification Team (NECT) at field locations and provide project engineering support, as requested. Perform project engineering and deliver associated documentation as directed by the government. Develop products for and in support of the NECT in technical reviews, including System Verification Reviews (SRV), Chief Engineer Review Board (ChERB)), system level risks, test plan reviews, and certification reports. Evaluate and track Next Generation Launcher (NGL) issues and NGL change management reporting and provide a report to the NECT to support certification activities. Support ongoing system engineering activities, risk identification, risk management, mission deliverables, and the government in preparing documentation. Manage On–Ramp mission data deliverables in a government database and provide status reports, as required. Maintain document trees, update database action item tracker, provide inputs supporting certification status tracker for systems engineering processes, and deliver a status report to the government.


Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with aerospace systems hardware analysis, design, system integration, operations, or manufacturing

-Knowledge of DoD and federal acquisition systems and engineering processes

-Ability to comprehend technical requirements and conduct engineering and technical analysis to determine compliance with requirements

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with space launch systems hardware analysis, design, integration, operations, or manufacturing

-Knowledge of Air Force launch vehicle use certification processes and launch mission assurance processes

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent analytical and time management skills

-BS degree in ME preferred; MS degree a plus


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance required.
