Media Relations Specialist

Key Role:
Perform mission-critical functions for the corporate media relations team that are foundational to telling the corporate story and building thought leadership in Cyber, analytics, engineering, digital solutions, and consulting. Research, compile, and analyze the firm’s media coverage and use available measurement tools and methodologies to provide insight into the performance of strategic communications campaigns across paid, earned, and owned channels. Develop monthly coverage reports and analyses and develop content for a variety of article platforms to support stakeholders and internal priorities. Write, edit, and proofread materials, including pitches, press releases, blog posts, announcements, profiles, backgrounders, fact sheets, and biographies. Manage and maintain reporter relationship databases, including Podio and MuckRack, support the development of media lists, speaking calendars, award calendars, and editorial calendars, develop pitches, and work with targeted media on story development. Comprehend relevant social media and digital channels for the business and bring expertise in creative content development. Participate actively in internal team meetings, find opportunities to share new and creative ideas, provide team administration support, attend meetings, handle scheduling and logistics, and research and monitor Booz Allen’s business and industry to maintain a knowledge base.

Basic Qualifications:
-6+ months of experience with a public relations agency, a combination of agency and in-house communications, or supporting in-house communications as an intern
-Ability to work on a team and handle multiple projects simultaneously
-Ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
-BA or BS degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Advertising

Additional Qualifications:
-Possession of excellent interpersonal, organizational, research, writing, and editing skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
