Microsoft Exchange E-Mail Systems Engineer

Key Role:
Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high–level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications, analyze system requirements, and lead design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations and develop system architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation planning through the assessment of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interact with the client regarding systems engineering technical considerations and equivalent problems, issues, or conflicts. Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility and communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with designing, deploying, managing, and configuring Enterprise mail solutions using Microsoft Exchange 2010 and newer
-Experience with overseeing the operations and management of a globally distributed Microsoft Exchange environment
-Experience with developing and implementing mail archival and enterprise mobility solutions
-Experience with the coordination of mail system upgrades, system and security maintenance patching, and service interruptions across multiple functional teams
-Active TS/SCI clearance required; willingness to take a polygraph exam
-HS diploma or GED and 8 years of experience with IT systems administration or systems engineering, AA or AS degree and 6 years of experience with IT systems administration or systems engineering, BA or BS degree and 4 years of experience with IT systems administration or systems engineering, or MA or MS degree and 2 years of experience with IT systems administration or systems engineering
-DoD 8570 Certification, including Security+, CASP, CISSP, or CISM required prior to starting on client site

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with developing and managing scripted solutions for Windows servers using PowerShell

-Experience with Exchange system configuration management through Microsoft SCCM

-Experience with enterprise load balancing and security appliances, including F5
-Experience with the management and operational use of systems monitoring tools, including Solarwinds, Splunk, or Microsoft SCOM
-Experience with analyzing and enhancing operational procedures and new innovative solutions to address current and emerging IT challenges
-Knowledge of ITIL change management and problem management best practices
-Ability to work independently and as a team member to solve difficult technical challenges on a global scale
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent team collaboration skills
-Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph preferred
-BA or BS degree and 8+ years of experience with IT systems administration and engineering preferred
-Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) in Server 2012, Server 2012R2, or Server 2016 or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Server 2012, Server 2012R2, or Server 2016
-MCSE: Messaging Certification in Exchange 2010 and newer
-ITILv3 foundations certification
