Military Plans Analyst

Key Role:
Provide analysis of OPLAN– and CONPLAN–specific issues for existing and future MCIPAC and MARFORJ tasks and requirements. Provide functional analyses and planning products that mitigate vulnerabilities regarding the execution of MCIPAC operational planning, effectiveness, and readiness, including contingency plans, operational plans, Non–Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) from countries other than Japan, Non–Combatant Evacuation plans from Japan, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) plans, and pandemic or other medical response plans. Develop and maintain functional relationships with supported Higher Headquarters, including Marine Corps Installations Command(MCICOM), III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), and US Forces Japan (USFJ). Coordinate the execution of the MCIPAC Plans Cell to ensure integration with higher HQ and adjacent commands operations and exercise plans. Provide analysis of MCIPAC requirements to support existing plans for the reception and onward movement of US–based forces, intermediate logistics staging areas, and sustained Base Operating Support and Airfield Operating Support (BOS/AOS) activities. Provide recommended changes and improvements to the III MEF NEO and HA/DR analyst. Maintain the MCICOM–directed Regional Installation Support Plan and balance operational requirements effectively against available and limited resources. This position is located in Okinawa Japan.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with the Deliberate Planning process and Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP)

-5+ years of experience with HHQ operational, including Division, Wing, MLG, or MEF HHQ Commands

-2+ years of experience in exercise planning, preparation, and coordination with adjacent components and HHQ Commands

-Experience with Microsoft Office

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

-USMC Formal Schooling related to MAGTF Operations

Additional Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with Marine Corps Installation operations planning and execution

-5+ years of experience with Pacific AOR OPLANS and CONPLANS plans

-Experience with supporting III MEF and MCIPAC

-Experience in working with JGSDF

-Experience in working with the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS)

-Knowledge of MARFORJ mission

-Knowledge of the Western Pacific area of operations
