Military Readiness Exercise Planner/Assessor

Key Role:

Develop exercise options based on unit availability, training requirements, and exercise objectives. Develop and brief exercise options to senior client leaders, work with outside organizations and subordinate units during mission analysis, and finalize exercise planning by providing concept of operations and writing exercise orders. Work as part of an exercise assessment team member evaluating how a unit performs under no-notice conditions and how installations support an alerted unit in its deployment timeline. Collect data and develop after action reports and build after action briefings for senior client leaders. Assist team members with the war-gaming process in development of potential future exercises during the options development process.  

Basic Qualifications:

-10 years of experience with Army readiness

-Experience with military tactical deployment planning as a transportation or movement or headquarters staff planner
-Experience as a military exercise planner

-Knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), military plans, and operations orders

-Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience as a Transportation Mobility Officer, Warrant, or Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO)
-Experience as a Joint exercise planner

-Experience with Division, Corps, Army Service Component Command, or Army Command staffs
-Knowledge of Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise (EDRE) planning, policy, and regulations 

-Knowledge of Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES)
-Knowledge of the Army Message Handling System (AMHS)
-Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office products
-Ability to build relationships and communicate internally and externally to the organization effectively, both orally and in writing

-BA or BS degree

-Command and General Staff College Graduate, Battle Staff Course, or equivalent

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
