Military Security Specialist

Key Role:

Support an Army client in executing a security program. Support the implementation of security measures for the classification, safeguarding, transmission, and declassification of classified information. Ensure access to classified information is limited to appropriately cleared personnel with a need to know and ensure security threats and incidents pertaining to classified information are reported, recorded, and coordinated through the client's security manager. Coordinate with information systems security personnel for the effective management, use, and oversight of classified information in electronic form, as required. Coordinate the preparation, dissemination, and maintenance of security classification guides with original classification authorities. Support the evaluation and processing of security clearances and Army threat programs. Analyze the management of the security budget and capture the security requirements of the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with supporting personnel, information, or industrial security support

-Experience as a security manager or security specialist

-Experience with operating the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS)

-TS/SCI clearance

-HS diploma or GED

-Completion of security manager training

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with collaborating across multiple organizations to ensure appropriate support to overarching programs and developing sub-programs appropriately

-Experience with budget management, developing spend plans, and manpower assessments

-Knowledge of original and derivative classification processes, marking of classified documents, the proper use, storage, reproduction, transmission, and dissemination of classified information, and the investigation and reporting instances of actual or potential compromise and procedures for the secure use of information systems
