Military Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret developmental tests for new or modified products or product components. Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel. Provide technical support and advice to other engineering groups. Guide and direct lower level personnel on the set-up and performance of tests. Act as a liaison with outside suppliers in establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items. Devise and apply testing procedures for parts or sub-assemblies received from outside vendors. Ensure traceability of requirements to program system specifications and interface requirements.


Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with broadcast or receipt SATCOM

-Experience in working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships

-Experience with handling communications security (COMSEC) materials and devices

-Secret clearance

-AA or AS degree or 4+ years of experience in SATCOM in lieu of a degree

-Security+ or Network+ Certification


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with GBS equipment and troubleshooting

-Experience with system engineering and integration

-Knowledge of streaming video, including MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 and networking protocols, including FTP, FTPS, or SFTP, HTTP or HTTPS, NTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SCP, TELNET, TFTP, IGMP, UDP, IP multicast, and TCP/IP

-Knowledge of software components and technologies used in GBS software, including Adobe Flash, JBoss Web server, Java, PKI certificates, smartcards, IDC Cyphercast, ActivClient middleware, 90meter middleware, HBSS, McAfee, XML, Java, HTML, and Kencast Fazzt

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent analytical and time management skills

-BS degree in a technical field preferred
