Missile Systems Dismantlement Engineer

Key Role:

Provide technical support and subject matter expertise to assist government agencies in the development of ballistic missile systems disassembly, dismantlement, and disposal processes, approaches through technical analysis, assessment, planning, awareness of safety and hazard impacts, awareness of industrial handling standards. Work with integrated contractor team in performing duties, which encompass several phases of development and application for disassembly, dismantlement, and disposal procedures on various non-US originated ballistic missile systems and components that contain energetic and hazardous materials. Support disassemble, dismantle, and disposal procedures, and approaches in development of ballistic missile systems. Assist government procurement agencies with potential implementations of specific procedures and approaches through the defense acquisition process and project management.   

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience working in ballistic missile systems technical areas

-Experience in working with missile systems hardware components, including solid and liquid propellants, propulsion sections, nozzles, guidance and control devices, airframe, and warhead, and there functionalities

-Ability to work in teams, communicate and provide coherent reporting of technical concepts and analysis oral and in written deliverables

-Ability to travel to various locations in the US and internationally at least once a quarter throughout the calendar year

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering Systems Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of DoD 4145.M contractors’ safety manual for ammunition and explosives

-Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FARs), the DoD’s process for acquisition programs, and the various program and process and approach technical reviews required for acquisition approval

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
