Naval Network Administrator

Key Role:

Provide support as a network administration to the Navy client, and develop and maintain network communications in support of Programs of Record (POR) applications and managed IT systems within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Maintain responsibility of network equipment, including routers, switches and firewalls individually and as part of a team. Use knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Manage, improve and report to Navy CIO staff on system performance. Conduct regularly scheduled vulnerability remediation, upgrades, patching, and perform and analyze security evaluations. Apply technical expertise in collaboration with other team members to develop requirements, including identifying tasking, managing progress, recognizing, reporting and remediating issues representing operational risk. Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems and solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

-2 years of experience with system administration

-Experience with Cisco IOS, including installing, configuring, and maintaining routers and switches, troubleshooting, reviewing logs, and patching

-Ability to build, configure, and maintain Cisco network equipment within compliance standards

-Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

-Navy Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) baseline Certification, including CompTIA Security+ or similar industry certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with system administration supporting DoD network systems, especially Navy POR systems

-Experience with scripting in Microsoft PowerShell

-Knowledge of DoD security compliance auditing, DoD hardening, RMF, STIGs, and PKI

-Knowledge of information security, including systems and network security, best practices, documentation, and user authentication

-BA or BS degree in a related field, including CS, Computer Information Systems, and Engineering

-Navy Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) Computing Environment Certification for designated Operating System or ability within 90 days

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
