Network CAN and LAN Engineer, Senior

Key Role:
Design, build, operate, monitor, and maintain network CAN or LAN infrastructures supporting enterprise and wide area network (WAN) managed services. Ensure network designs are implemented in accordance with defined performance criteria and the systems being monitored and measured. Review network system performance metrics periodically to plan for anticipatory growth, upgrades, or migration. Assess network performance trends, risks, issues, and problems reported and recommend solutions. Configure network interfaces, including virtual or physical to legacy systems, MPLS WAN demarcation, and intra-and inter-site networks. Perform operations and maintenance functions at enterprise CAN and LAN. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems for voice, data, and video communications.

Basic Qualifications:
-7+ years of experience as a network engineer or administrator, including network requirements management, design, and development
-3+ years of experience with WAN or CAN and technical solution architecture
-2+ years of experience with network Tier 2 break or fix resolution
-Knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches, and layer 2 and 3 protocols
-Knowledge of managing network configuration, VLANs, VRFs, routing, and subnets
-Knowledge of system and network architecture practices, tools, and methodologies
-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of network design tools, including Visio
-Knowledge of data analytics tools used to capture customer traffic flows and show trends and forecasts
-Knowledge of Cloud concepts, load balancing, software defined networking, and emerging network technologies
-Ability to review and compose technical documentation related to customer requirements

-BA or BS degree or 4 years of experience as a network engineer or network administrator
-Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) or Juniper Network Certified Associate (JNCIA)

-Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Network Certified Design Associate (JNCDA) Certification and ITIL v3 Foundations Certification
