Network Engineer Lead

Key Role:

Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across all platforms, including e–mail, files transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing. Configure systems to the user environment. Guide and provide the ultimate direction for projects. Maintain responsibility for solving highly technical and complex problems for several projects. Report project status to senior management on a routine basis. Authorize project–related decisions, including appropriate head count and client negotiations.

Basic Qualifications

-5+ years of experience with operating, troubleshooting, and installing network routers and switches, designing and architecting routed and switched networks, and in a DoD environment

-2+ years of experience as senior or lead network architect in multi–tenant network

-Experience with network virtualization technologies and vendors and multi–tenant network architectures

-Experience with designing and modernizing a complex network to separate control from data planes and with a width variety network routing and switching equipment devices from multiple vendors

-Knowledge of scripting languages, including Pearl or Python and DoD JIE–JRSS architecture and design for a DoD network within the past 3 years

-Knowledge of current and emergent network design principles and protocols

-Ability to analyze requirements, plan and develop technical solutions and frameworks, develop test and implementation plans, and analyze and evaluate networks

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree in Information Systems or Engineering

-IAT Level III Certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01–M and recognized Certifications for Network Administrators, Engineers, or Architects

Additional Qualifications:

-MA or MS degree preferred
