Network Engineer, Mid

Key Role:
Plan, design, develop, and implement network engineering plans and wide-scale networks for clients. Monitor all activities of network facilities and ensure high quality data transmission. Provide technical support in all client interaction situations, including receipt of specifications, design, test, and response to service requests. Debug and test networks, plan projects, perform needs assessments, and prepare and oversee cost or benefit estimates, presentations, negotiations, installation, problem resolution, and multi-vendor product integration. Provide initial implementation support of networks to assure proper execution and provide resolutions for system failures or degradations. Provide project management and documentation, as required. Leverage the use and application of basic principles, theories, and concepts and develop resolutions to problems of a limited scope.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with the network and infrastructure of Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES) or other enterprise DoD network and computing services

-Knowledge of switching and routing, network storage, virtualization technologies, Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Microsoft SQL Server database

-Ability to administer, build, diagnose, and repair all or most of the CANES enterprise services in a fast-paced, technical environment

-Ability to write detailed status reports, adapt to changing priorities, exhibit self-management, and be comfortable briefing to senior program leadership

-TS/SCI clearance

-HS diploma or GED and 5+ years of experience with networking or BA or BS degree and 3+ years of experience with networking

-Security+, CCNA, or CCNP Certification


Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills

-BA or BS degree in a technical field

-CCNA or higher or other relevant network certification
