Network Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Provide network architecture design and system operational support for network devices on a large operational system and for potential future connectivity to other systems. Establish requirements, develop and evaluate technical solutions and architecture designs, perform solution analysis, design enterprise migration and implementation plan for data centers, remote access connections, cross-domain solutions, network ports, protocols, and services configurations, and meet the network requirements. Evaluate tools and services developed by COTs providers and provide recommendations on their suitability and potential for use on the operational system. Provide Tier 3 network support and maintain responsibility for analyzing and developing solutions for networking issues, by monitoring all operational communications systems and circuits, directing troubleshooting, and restoring all actions for unscheduled outages. Work as part of cross functional teams implementing engineering changes to the system, liaise with system administrators to provide solutions to operational problems, and provide installation and configuration support for new capabilities. Analyze network activity and performance to identify potential network issues or inefficiencies and develop and implement corrective actions, as required to meet and maintain accreditation requirements and test objectives, along with meeting system requirements for availability and functionality.

Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experience with the design, research, development, and implementation of network solutions, network security, and crypto technologies

-7+ years of experience with researching and analyzing emerging network technologies and capabilities

-5+ years of experience with providing engineering support for the continued installation and expansion of secure system using commercial network protocols and providing installation documentation and as-built documentation

-3+ years of experience with operational networking Tier III troubleshooting and support

-3+ years of experience with VoIP and VTC systems, including Cisco CUCM, TMS, MCU, VCS, and endpoints

-Experience with assessing network configuration faults and working with team members to remedy the problem

-Experience with networking tools, including CiscoWorks, HP Network Node Manager, Zabbix, or equivalent

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

-Security+ Certification and CCNA or CCNP Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Certifications in Linux+, VMware, ITILv3, PMP, and Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
