Network Engineer, Senior

Key Role:
Provide network engineering support to design, implement, and verify network infrastructure equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls for aircraft command and control system networks for the US Navy. Lead the development of design artifacts, including drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials for complex communications systems, such as design, operational, and technical requirements, network engineering, and information assurance. Identify and develop system specifications, performance requirements, and interface design requirements. Serve as the primary author for major deliverables, including system requirements specifications, system design document, equipment specifications, system test plans, and test reports. Direct multiple engineering activities and lead the configuration of network equipment, including data-capable radio systems and wireless LAN during all phases of implementation. Act as the primary point of contact with the client for project execution, provide support at briefings and design reviews, and work independently in a multi–tasking environment.


Basic Qualifications:
-7+ years of experience with network design, configuration, verification, and troubleshooting experience in working with Cisco and other vendors' network equipment
-Experience with the design and integration of military computer network systems
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-HS diploma or GED


Additional Qualifications:
-10+ years of experience with data communications network technologies and technologies
-5+ years of experience with using IP routing protocols, including IPv6 support for OSPF, RIPv2, and BGP
-5+ years of experience with using LAN switching technologies, including a spanning tree protocol
-1-2 years of experience with military and commercial satellite and data radio communications systems and network engineering
-1-2 years of experience with network security countermeasures, including firewalls, access control lists, intrusion detection, and encryption devices
-Top Secret clearance
-BS degree in EE, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
-Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification or higher
