Network Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Leverage expertise in network engineering to design, configure, test, and deploy network solutions in DoD environments. Install and validate LAN and WAN solutions in accordance with networking best practices. Implement firewall and security solutions, set up and evaluate the utility of VPN technologies, design network architectures in accordance with applicable DoD security requirements, and document the network with the appropriate technical diagrams and artifacts. Demonstrate knowledge of and experience with the implementation of layer III routing protocols and layer II switching. Diagnose network-based problems and factors affecting network performance. Maintain shared responsibility of a lab-based test environment as part of a team of engineers, including ensuring continuous operations and show willingness to expand technical expertise to increase the impact of contributions across the team and client mission.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with Cisco or Juniper network switches, routers, and firewalls, including platforms such as ASA, ISR, and MX

-Experience with configuring and troubleshooting SSL and IPSec VPNs, including performance tuning, security logging, and log analysis

-Experience with analyzing network traffic and using security event management and diagnostic tools, including Nessus, Splunk, SolarWinds, Sourcefire, HBSS, or Wireshark and full-packet capture solutions

-Ability to depict network diagrams accurately using Microsoft Visio and operate in a Microsoft Windows-based lab environment

-Ability to communicate complex network principles and designs to clients, including briefing to non-technical and technical personnel

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree and 4+ years of experience with network and systems engineering

-DoD 8570 Baseline IAT II Security Certification, including Security+ CE

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with mobile devices, including Apple iOS and Android

-Experience with Windows Server technologies, including AD, DNS, and DHCP functionality

-Experience with using VMware vSphere or vCenter to manage virtualized server environments

-Experience with network monitoring protocols, including SNMP, NetFlow, Network, and RMON

-Experience with working in coordination with the commercial mobile industry to assess mobile technologies for the US government

-Experience with implementing certificate-based encryption, including X.509 on network devices

-CCENT, CCNA, JNCIA, or higher Certification preferred
