Network Operations Lead

Key Role:

Manage and oversee O&M activities and support staff, including system, database, and network administrators in a network operations center. Lead day-to-day operations of a complex environment to maintain the network and mission systems and perform technical analysis of complex software, hardware, and transmission facility using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations. Maintain responsibility for infrastructure, systems, and applications, including the design, implementation, sustainability, and deployment of system enhancements and upgrades and work closely with client leadership to report progress. Troubleshoot issues, plan and design for future system enhancements to the infrastructure, ensure system performance metrics are being met, and provide regular status and operational updates to all stakeholders. Interface with engineering and development teams to determine software requirements and manage upgrade and release schedules. Supervise network infrastructure, operation availability, and capabilities for incidents, problems, outages, and other issues impacting system performance or Cybersecurity events. Manage the network operations team to meet project goals and adhere to approved standards.

Basic Qualifications:

-6+ years of experience as a network operations engineer

-Experience with Windows-based devices and server operations and maintenance

-Experience with incident response handling

-Experience with supervising network operations staff

-Experience with proxy technologies and vulnerability management, including scanning, patching, and remediation

-Experience with a wide variety of technologies and products, including virtualization, Windows, network switches and routers, firewalls, and Cybersecurity

-Experience with ITIL-based IT service management, including incident, problem, and change management

-Ability to execute Tier II and III troubleshooting efforts to maintain network operations

-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree and 6+ years of experience with network operations engineering or 8+ years of experience with network operations engineering in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with DoD clients preferred

-Experience with the Cloud, including AWS preferred

-Knowledge of Navy Networks and systems, including C4I, NMCI and NGEN, NNPI, and JWICS

-Knowledge of RDBMS, including Oracle and SQL Server

-Ability to work with leadership, functional groups, and development teams

-Ability to work independently

-Ability to lead a team in the execution of the client tasking

-Ability to define and maintain project schedules and performance

-Ability to create and maintain documentation for security practices

-Ability to engineer, design, and develop solutions to technical and process challenges

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including communicating with staff, management, and clients effectively

-Top Secret clearance preferred

-BS degree in CS, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or MIS preferred

-Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM) Certification preferred

-DoDI 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher

-IT Networking Certifications, including CCND, CCDA, or CompTIA

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
