Network WAN Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Design, build, operate, monitor, and maintain wide area network (WAN) infrastructures supporting enterprise and WAN managed services. Ensure network designs are implemented in accordance with defined performance criteria and the systems are monitored and measured. Review network system performance metrics to plan for anticipatory growth, upgrades, or migration periodically. Assess network performance trends, risks, issues, and problems reported and recommend solutions to WAN configurations. Use industry best practices in managing traffic shaping, separation, and prioritization. Manage WAN configurations. Track network issues, failures, and solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experience as a network engineer or administrator, including network requirements management, design, and development

-3+ years of experience with WAN and CAN and technical solution architecture

-3+ years of experience with network operations and maintenance

-Knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches, and layer 2 and 3 protocols

-Knowledge of management network configurations, VLANs, VRFs, routing, and subnets

-Knowledge of system and network architecture practices, tools, and methodologies

-Ability to translate customer requirements into technical designs and artifacts

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of network design tools, including Visio

-Knowledge of data analytics tools used to capture customer traffic flows and demonstrate trends and forecasts

-Knowledge of Cloud concepts, global load balancing, software defined Networking, and other emerging network technologies
-Ability to review and compose technical documentation related to customer requirements
-BA or BS degree in a related technical field

-Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Network Certified Associate (JNCIA) Certification

-ITIL v3 Foundations Certification
