Neuroscience Consultant

Key Role:

Work in a fast–paced, highly collaborative environment to assist with the technical program management of research and development (R&D) efforts. Draw on deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to advise clients in multiple areas, including neuroscience, neurophysiology, and neuromodulation with a particular focus on peripheral nerve stimulation on organ and organ systems. Provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of organizations goals, create technical reports, present findings, track technical progress, analyze the development of technology program plans and perform equivalent tasks, as required by clients. Assist with technical program management, program development, and briefing materials for government R&D efforts. Develop consulting expertise to deliver high-quality work products to support projects. Guide the activities of others on a set of defined tasks, as needed. Work on assignments that offer ever-increasing levels of responsibility and client interaction while deepening expertise.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with research on neuroscience, neurophysiology, neuromodulation, and neuro-immune interactions, including time as a graduate student

-5+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for both technical and non–technical audiences

-Ability to display multiple first–author contributions to peer–reviewed papers or patents

-Ability to explain and present complex scientific concepts to a broad audience

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-PhD in Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or Cellular Biology required

Additional Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with postdoctoral academic or industrial research

-Experience with transitioning pre-clinical biomedical research to the clinic or toward human applications

-Experience with science and technology policies

-Possession of excellent scientific writing skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Active Secret clearance
