Occupational Safety and Health Specialist, Junior

Key Role:

Support mid-and senior-level staff members of a team by performing site visits, sampling and analyzing the workplace environment, researching regulatory requirements, generating technical reports, supporting training programs, conducting field monitoring, and maintaining files and records, including material safety data sheets. Provide direct, consultative support to federal government programs for organizations. Leverage knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR regulatory requirements. Use and interpret OSHA regulations and national consensus standards and communicate them to clients and incorporate them into program plans and documents. Maintain responsibility for conducting site assessments for OSH compliance and level of program implementation. Administer safety policies, procedures, and employee safety training.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with occupational health and safety

-Experience with performing field sampling

-Experience with industrial hygiene sampling equipment, including sound level meter, dosimeter, and high or low flow pumps

-Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR contents

-Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 compliance

-Ability to deploy to job sites alone, conduct safety audits, and communicate findings to the client in a meaningful, relevant, and imperative manner

-BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in working with government clients

-Experience with construction safety standards and job sites

-Ability to work independently as well as within a team structure

-Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously

-Knowledge of COE EM 385

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Certification or training in asbestos, lead sampling and management, fall protection, permit required confined space entry, or respiratory protection program management
