Oceania Operations Exercise Analyst

Key Role:

Provide required research and analysis to generate deliverable reports for a client relative to the survivability and security of overseas operations, training, and participation in multinational and bilateral exercises in accordance with the MEF training objectives, campaign plans, theater security cooperation programs, and operation plans. Provide research, analysis, and recommendations to assist with the structuring and planning of operation plans training events to meet organizational needs and conduct reviews and analysis of current and past operation plan training events. Provide analysis and advice on best-practice procedures to planners to maximize exercise objectives within resource constraints. Identify and report vulnerabilities in current operation plans and provide recommendations to mitigate all identified vulnerabilities. Research and prepare vulnerability analysis with regards to joint, bilateral, or multinational exercise planning, including event objectives, scheduling, logistics, budget, and administrative support. Gather research and perform analysis for the operations department, MEF staff, and other command staffs on exercise issues and provide recommendations to identify and mitigate areas of mission risk. This position is located in Okinawa, Japan.

Basic Qualifications:

-5 years of experience with PACOM area of operations exercise planning

-2 years of experience with exercise, planning, preparation, and coordination with adjacent components and HHQ commands

-Experience with Marine Air-Ground Task Force structure and employment

-Experience with planning and coordinating training and operations within Oceania

-Knowledge of the Oceania region and military organizations and comprehend how US forces interact and integrate with partner military

-Knowledge of a variety of DoD networks for information gathering, including NIPR and SIPR and mission planning

-Ability to apply information in the applicable documents to advise in the design of an exercise construct that meets Theater Security Cooperation and training and readiness objectives

-Ability to advise leadership on means to achieve objectives within a fiscally responsible exercise construct

-Secret clearance

-Completion of USMC formal schooling, including MAGTF Operations

Additional Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with operations plans

-Experience with supporting III MEF and MCIPAC

-Experience with AOR Embassy and JUSMAG organizations

-Experience with the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS)

-Knowledge of Western Pacific area of operations

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree preferred
