On-going Assessment IA Lead

Key Role:

Provide leadership, team coordination, and subject matter expertise in support of information assurance (IA) activities, including the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) or Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. Use compliancy and policy expertise to develop new on-going assessment service offerings for federal agencies. Analyze all phases of the system development life-cycle to identify and manage the security implications of system engineering activities and provide corresponding recommendations to decision-makers. Perform security engineering activities, including collaborating with system engineers to identify security controls, design automation techniques, and help develop new service capabilities to address growing agency security compliance automation demands. Provide direction, leadership, and oversight for and become the primary point of contact for the agency security and A&A leads. Lead all security and A&A activities executed throughout the assigned phases of the system lifecycle, attending or running meetings, and coordinating efforts of junior security and A&A staff to complete all security activities required by the system lifecycle gates.


Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with writing documents for A&A or RMF for civil government agencies based on NIST SP 800-53 Rev4

-8+ years of experience with participation in the design and testing of NIST 800-53 security controls for TCP/IP networks and information systems, including Windows and Linux based systems

-4+ years of experience in a leadership role supporting Cybersecurity policy delivery

-4+ years of experience with acting as the security SME for IT development projects

-Experience with manual and automated vulnerability assessments

-Experience with the design and operation of security controls for security sensor tools, providing hardware asset management, software asset management, configuration management, and vulnerability management

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint

-Ability to obtain a security clearance


Additional Qualifications:

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Top Secret clearance preferred

-BA or BS degree

-Security+, CASP, CAP, or CISSP Certification
