Operational Medicine Exercise Planner

Key Role:
Provide thought leadership and expertise in supporting exercise planning for an Acquisition Category (ACAT) I Major Automated Information System (MAIS) program for a DoD operational medicine (OpMed) Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Provide planning, management, liaison, and coordination for OpMed exercises and events within Joint and Service training systems and special projects. Serve as the client office’s point of contact to the Joint Staff desk officer or event planner for client support to assigned exercises and events. Assist with building exercise planning schedules, forecast labor and travel, assist with the development of exercise and event budgets, and monitor Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) progress for OpMed integration. Develop and maintain the client exercise support calendar, coordinate team member assignments, deployment, and assist functional area participants, as required. Become familiar with the supported organization, JELC processes, and contract deliverables to successfully design, plan, prepare, execute, and assess OpMed support to exercises and events. This position will require the ability to travel to locations within the supported organization's area of responsibility.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in a professional work environment

-Experience with Service and Joint doctrine, including combat, combat support, and combat service support operations

-Experience with DoD exercises at levels comparable to Joint Task Force, Army Corps, Numbered Air Forces, and Numbered Fleet, including the planning, design, and execution and assessment of exercises

-Experience with using Microsoft Office products

-Ability to prepare and conduct seminars or work groups, conduct training in large and small groups, and conduct post exercise analysis

-Ability to travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations in support of the task order with a current passport

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree and 9 years of experience in a professional work environment or MA or MS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in Combatant Command or Joint Staff

-Experience with operations centers, planning cells, and operational planning teams

-Experience with Joint or Service operational medicine

-Knowledge of the scenario or MSEL development process

-Possession of excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
