Operational Medicine IT Project Manager

Key Role:

Work in a Joint Program Office supporting two DoD Acquisition Category (ACAT) IAM Major Automated Information System (MAIS) healthcare Information Technology (IT) programs. Maintain 11 legacy healthcare information technology products that together make up the current DoD operational medicine Electronic Health Record (EHR) system while developing a new modernized EHR system to support soldiers, sailors, and airmen in operational medicine environments around the globe. Maintain responsibility for overseeing IT projects within an Operational Medicine Program Management Office and apply knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile, and other IT best practices to complex sustainment and modernization IT efforts. Perform a variety of tasks, including monitoring performance, scope, cost, and schedule. Lead and direct the work of others in a matrixed team environment. Maintain responsibility for monitoring quality assurance and compliance with applicable DoD regulatory requirements, conduct audits, and review and analyze data and documentation. Monitor and report program office compliance with DoD acquisition processes, procedures, and policies. This position is located in Arlington, VA.


Basic Qualifications:

-10 years of experience in project or program management of large, complex information systems projects requiring development, integration, implementation, and training, including Pre-Initial Operational Capability (IOC) activities

-3+ years of experience with projects involving the implementation and integration of a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) IT solution

-Ability to lead a team, work in a team environment, and coordinate tasks with client supervisors

-Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

-Public Trust clearance

-BA or BS degree required


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with health IT and multi-hospital, geographically dispersed enterprise electronic health record implementations

-Experience with DoD IT programs 

-Experience with the Military Health System

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
