Operational Plans Analyst

Key Role:
Analyze actual and predictable interacting operational activities to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision-making or resource allocation as it pertains to operational and contingency plans and exercise planning. Participate in and support designated events in the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) to gather data for the client's priorities. Provide recommendations from the information gained during these engagements, allowing the client to increase proficiency and reduce vulnerabilities versus known threats and risks to operational priorities. Work with the client to evaluate the effectiveness of current exercise processes and procedures and present findings designed to enable effective decision-making. Conduct vulnerability analysis of exercise plans associated with client missions and provide recommendations regarding strategic and long-range plans. Write memos, reports, and other documents using data collected, outlining findings and recommendations to support client decision-making.

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with one of the following planning processes: Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC), Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), or any other DoD planning process

-Experience in project management, office productivity tools, and general office automation technology

-Ability to establish and develop a network of relationships, effectively participate in operational planning teams OPT to solve problems, organize, set priorities, develop plan of action and milestones (POA&M), monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities
-Secret clearance

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with large and complex projects

-Experience with base operations support

-Experience with a wide range of analytical methods, including data mining and statistical analysis to examine and interpret data

-Possession of excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques

-BA or BS degree
