Operations Research Analyst, Senior

Key Role:

Analyze actual and predictable interacting operational activities of a military, governmental, or business system to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making or resource allocation. Leverage advanced knowledge of modeling and measuring techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematical techniques, and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines in determining solutions. Provide work leadership to lower-level employees.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with working in operations research, systems analysis, or management sciences

-4 years of experience with working as an operations research analyst in the DoD

-Knowledge of program requirements and operational efficiencies, readiness, manpower, and modernization, top-level fiscal and strategic guidance in support of USMC policies and strategies, Front-End Assessments (FEAs), Program Objective Memorandum (POM), Roles and Missions (R&M), the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR), and Quick-Turn Assessments

-Ability to lead the analysis of budgetary and programmatic information, apply probability and statistical techniques to analyze large and complex data sets, and conduct the development and application of optimization models to DoD issues and the development of independent assessments of studies, analyses, reports, and cost estimates

-Ability to apply decision theory and portfolio analysis to strategic resourcing decisions, conduct development models and simulations using a variety of modeling approaches, including discrete event, agent based, and system dynamics modeling, and conduct analysis of models and simulations to support verification and validation

-Ability to conduct analysis of model and simulation outputs to support USMC leadership decision making, development of models and simulations to support budgetary decisions and POM development, verification and validation of simulations, models, and tools

-Ability to apply database query languages to pull data from authoritative databases, analyze highly dimensional survey data, apply Design of Experiment (DOE) and response surface methodologies to conduct simulation analysis, conduct database design and development efforts, and program effectively in one or more scripting languages, including VBA, JavaScript, R, or Python

-Active Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree in Operations Research, Applied Statistics, or Industrial Engineering
