Operations Research Analyst

Key Role:

Serve in the quantitative analysis field and work with senior staff to resolve a wide range of operations research (OR) issues. Develop solutions independently by demonstrating and applying knowledge of and experience with OR. Define, design, and develop systems requirements, map input and output processes, capture relationships amongst parameters of complex systems, and develop measures of system health and performance. Develop predictive models of system performance and guide decision makers towards optimal design.


Basic Qualifications:

-10 years of experience with performing data analytics

-Experience with advanced modeling and simulation software

-Experience with developing statistical and simulation models

-Experience with agent-based modeling, discrete event, system dynamics, optimization, or Monte Carlo modeling

-Experience with one or more scripting or scientific languages, including Java, Python, C++, or R

-Experience in interacting with a technical audiences on technical problems, working in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment, and balancing long– and short-term taskings

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, CS, or Engineering


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Access

-Ability to take poorly defined problems and convert them into requirements for which practical solutions can be defined

-Ability to exhibit flexibility, initiative, and innovation to succeed in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment and compose client deliverable quality documentation, analysis, and reports

-Ability to be highly detail-oriented and organized
-MS degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, CS, or Engineering
