Operations Research Analyst

Key Role:
Serve in the quantitative analysis field and work with senior staff to resolve a wide range of operations research (OR) issues. Develop solutions independently by demonstrating and applying knowledge of OR. Define, design, and develop systems requirements, map input and output processes, capture relationships amongst parameters of complex systems, and develop measures of system health and performance. Develop predictive models of system performance and guide decision makers towards optimal design. Perform quantitative analysis using tools of the systems engineering trade.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with developing statistical and simulation models

-Experience with concepts of agent-based modeling, including discrete event, system dynamics, optimization, multi-variable optimization, or Monte Carlo modeling

-Experience with one or more scripting or scientific languages, including Python, R, or Matlab

-Experience in interacting with a technical audience on technical problems

-Experience working with in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment, and balancing long- and short-term taskings

-Experience working with non-technical audiences, including decision makers

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, CS, Economics, or Engineering


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the advanced use of Microsoft Excel and Access

-Ability to take poorly defined problems and convert them into requirements, including provide practical solutions

-Ability to exhibit flexibility, initiative, and innovation to succeed in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, including compose client deliverable quality documentation, analysis, and reports

-Ability to be highly detail-oriented and organized

-MA or MS degree in Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, CS, or Engineering
