Operations Support Lead

The Operations Support Lead is responsible for providing operational support leadership for a VA based web application. The Operations Support Lead will be the main point of contact and conduit between the web applications Operations and Maintenance team as well as the application development team. The lead will be responsible for coordinating and leading triage and troubleshooting efforts between the two teams and provide operational support expertise and leadership for the project. 
 

The day-to-day life of an Operations Support Lead at the Charleston Digital Hub includes: 

-Working with technical requirements owners to obtain information on application design and functionality to propose solutions for end users. 

-Working with infrastructure administrators to troubleshoot performance issues and outages. 

-Performing application testing in multiple environments. 

-Conducting conferences calls and live demos with end users and developers to provide solutions. 

-Providing input to the policies, practices, and projects involving production operations. 

-Establishing a common understanding of workflow applications processes within multiple project environments. 

-Performing as an application expert within an infrastructure team as a part of the AGILE methodology. 

-Communicating application development life cycle events to multiple parties and tracking updates and changes to that life cycle. 

-Creating documentation regarding process, change management requests, and incident resolutions 


To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: 

-Ability to obtain a security clearance 

-Must live in the Charleston, SC area or be willing to relocate 

-Ability to communicate application information and solutions to clients 

-Work efficiently in cross team situations as well as independently 

-Data and process analysis background 

-Knowledge of software development models 


Preferred Qualifications: 

-Bachelor's degree in a technical related field 

-Experience with relational database systems and concepts 

-Ability to grasp concepts and flow of cross platform data 

-Experience with SOAP UI 

-Experience with SQL 

-Professional experience in system administration in a data center environment or public cloud – understand relationship between applications, operating system, software and hardware
