Oracle Database Administrator, Mid

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for implementing and maintaining one or more complex databases. Implement procedures to control access and allocation of data, including maintaining responsibility for security controls. Maintain responsibility for database definitions and documentation. Apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments and contribute to the development of new ideas and principles. Solve uniquely complex problems and often speak for the organization to internal or external clients. Work on long-range programs and objectives, including providing advice to the organization in the area of expertise. Play a role in overall functional strategic planning.


Basic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with the installation, configuration, and administration of Oracle servers
-Experience in database administration on production servers with server configuration, including monitoring, performance tuning, and maintenance with outstanding troubleshooting capabilities, Oracle replication, backup or recovery, and disaster recovery and planning
-Experience with operating in traditional and Agile project models
-Experience with batch processes, import, export, backup, database monitoring tools and application support setup of security policies, logical and physical data base modeling with UML and ERWIN tools, analyzing SOPs and operations manuals, including capacity planning, and identifying and resolving issues that could impact system performance, reliability, and usability proactively
-Experience with managing, maintaining, patching, upgrading, and ensuring operational continuity of the Oracle (DBMS) and associated components using Oracle products, including Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Recovery Manager, and Oracle RAC implementation
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree


Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with database architecture and implementation in a Cloud environment
-Ability to comprehend and grasp technical details at a system and component level

-Ability to lead working groups, negotiate, and create consensus
-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner
-MA or MS degree in CS or Software Engineering
-Oracle Certification, including administration, performance and tuning, or implementation
