Oracle Database Administrator

Key Role: 

Implement and manage databases that support COTS tools, including Pega, Alfresco, TeraDactor, and Hadoop. Support services before they are live through activities, including system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews. Measure, monitor, and maximize availability, efficiency, and performance of live services, applications, and systems. Manage the performance, availability, maintainability, security, and scalability of a Cloud-based solution. Coordinate with development and platform teams to design and implement zero-downtime deployment approaches, real-time logging, alerting, and monitoring solutions, and code instrumentation. Coordinate with the solution architect to design a highly available solution that meets availability and reliability objectives and to reduce manual activities using automation, when feasible. 

Basic Qualifications: 

-8+ years of experience with the installation, configuration, and administration of Oracle servers 

-Experience in database administration in the Cloud (AWS), including monitoring, performance tuning, and maintenance with outstanding troubleshooting capabilities, Oracle replication, backup or recovery, and disaster recovery and planning 

-Experience with batch processes, import, export, backup, database monitoring tools and application support setup of security policies, analyzing SOPs and operations manuals, including capacity planning, and identifying and resolving issues that may impact system performance, reliability, and usability proactively 

-Experience with managing, maintaining, patching, upgrading, and ensuring operational continuity of the Oracle DBMS and its components using Oracle products, including Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Recovery Manager, and Oracle RAC implementation 

-Knowledge of Agile software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies operation practices 

-Ability to interact with both management and technical staff 

-Active Top Secret clearance 

-BA or BS degree 

Additional Qualifications: 

-Experience with JIRA 

-Experience with Hadoop 

-Experience with security scanning tools, such as OWASP, Nessus 

-Experience with logging solutions, including Splunk 

-Knowledge of ElasticSearch 

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills 

-Amazon Web Service (AWS) Certification
