Outreach Office Manager

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for the management of a US Army chemical demilitarization outreach office located in Pueblo, CO. Report to the public outreach program manager and oversee approximately four individuals conducting public affairs and outreach activities. Apply critical thinking and expertise in communications and public participation to implement a public outreach strategy within the target community. Partner with senior government officials under tight deadlines to translate ideas and concepts into professional communication products and collateral, including leadership messages, PowerPoint presentations, outreach reports, video scripts, and social media content, all with a goal of keeping the community and key stakeholders informed of program progress. Manage the day-to-day operations of the outreach office, including logistics support, personnel management, and client relationships.

Basic Qualifications:

-7+ years of experience in public affairs or public outreach

-Experience with developing and executing a public outreach strategy

-Experience with writing and editing material ranging from technical articles to executive communication

-Experience with Microsoft Office applications

-Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the DoD or US Army

-Experience with leading or managing small-mid size project teams

-Experience with consulting or client relationship management

-Knowledge of chemical demilitarization

-Knowledge of the local community in Pueblo, CO

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
