Physician Advisor

Key Role:

Apply expertise in the clinical or health system to providing leadership for a range of health improvement initiatives in the DoD, including supporting performance management, continuous process improvement, and integration of specialty services across the Military Health System (MHS) and Veteran Affairs (VA). Work closely with senior MHS and VA stakeholders to analyze the development of policies and procedures for improving care. Organize and facilitate expert working groups and develop clinical support tools. Develop key deliverables, including literature reviews, research papers, issue guides, and Responses to Congress. Manage the development and execution of projects, including task schedules, quality assurance, data analysis, and report writing. Coordinate with other DoD agencies, as assigned.

 Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience as a practicing provider

-Experience in conferring with senior stakeholders

-Experience with analyzing client needs and recommending development and acquisition strategies

-Experience with advising the client on the impact of new legislation or new technologies regarding their activity

-Ability to advise on the reengineering of business processes to meet business goals, including strategic information technology business goals

-Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)

Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with project management or process improvement

-Experience with developing professional presentations and publications

-Experience with the MHS or VA

-MPH, MBA, or MHA degree, including BSN

-Board Eligible or Board Certified (BE or BC)
