Policy and Planning SME, Senior

Key Role:
Serve as part of a Booz Allen team supporting Future Joint Force Development in developing military capabilities for multiple Combatant Command and coalition clients. Identify, develop, and evaluate complex or highly sensitive future Joint Force capabilities, methods, procedures, and processes. Work as an SME, conducting studies, analyses, evaluations, military utility assessments, and capabilities-based assessments and use the outcomes to enhance plans and other strategy or policy documents. Formulate complex future requirements by working closely with Higher Headquarters and subordinate capability developers supporting specific programs and projects. Analyze the development of operating concepts, campaign plans, and supporting briefs and analyses by performing research, course of action analysis, and coordination among key internal and external stakeholders. Prepare briefings and reports on analysis methodology and results.

Basic Qualifications:

-15 years of experience with military operations

-5+ years of experience with operating on a Combatant Command, Joint, or Service headquarters staff

-Experience with conducting studies, analyses, evaluations, military utility assessments, and capabilities-based assessments and using the outcomes to enhance plans and other strategy or policy documents

-Experience with the Annual Joint Assessment (AJA) or Chairman's Net Assessment

-Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and interact with senior government leadership and program managers

-TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with developing and assessing strategies and policies directed by the unified command plan, Joint strategic campaign plan, national security strategy, national defense strategy, national military strategy, and other strategic documents

-Experience in coordinating military issues, concepts, and doctrine with other US government agencies

-Experience with analyzing campaign plans to ensure the commander's direction and command strategy are interpreted into actions aligned with strategic and intermediate military objectives

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

-Knowledge of the Joint Strategic Planning System

-Ability to respond accurately and quickly to internal and external staff taskings, develop and coordinate detailed staff packages, develop concise reports for briefings, and deliver them to senior DoD leaders

-Ability to effectively interpret the intent of a client’s needs and help shape and form the solution by leveraging team capabilities

-Ability to develop reports and briefings on strategic assessment activities

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

Clearance:
