Position, Navigation, and Timing Systems Engineer

Key Role:
Serve as a position, navigation, and timing (PNT) systems engineer in a laboratory and field environment. Conduct a range of PNT engineering tasks for testing the resilience of systems and conducting research and development in PNT performance and resilience. Perform software and hardware integration tasks to integrate GPS receivers into laboratory simulation and test environments. Develop software drivers or controllers to facilitate communication with and control of GPS receivers in test environments. Develop test scenarios to support rigorous testing of PNT devices and systems and support the development of software tools necessary for data acquisition and analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with testing GPS or PNT devices or systems in laboratory and field environments

-Experience with laboratory modeling and data collection systems, inclujding Mathwork’s MATLAB, Simulink, LABView, and equivalent

-Experience with developing software using C#, C++, and equivalent programming environments

-Experience with the physics and mathematics of PNT systems and how they produce PNT solutions

-Experience with system architecture of the GPS system, including the Ground, Space, and User segments

-Knowledge of GPS communications or messaging protocols, including NMEA or TSIP, including how they enable the development of software that can communicate with PNT devices, control their function, and collect data from them
-Secret clearance required

-BS degree in Engineering, Math, or Physics

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with networking architecture, TCIP, and UDP

-Experience with using GNSS simulation and test systems, including Spirent, Panacea, and Advance Global Navigation Simulator (AGNS)

-Experience with object oriented software development systems or Software Defined Radio (SDR)

-Experience with military GPS receivers

-Experience with multiple GNSS systems in addition to GPS, including GLONASS, Beidou, or Galileo
-TS/SCI clearance preferred
