Product Strategist, Senior

Key Role:

Lead the qualification of 50+ technology assets across the market and function and technical maturity and build pipeline and portfolio management functions. Lead market-based competitive intelligence, market assessments, client assessments, and strategic planning efforts for specific products, portfolios, and pipelines. Lead product and services packaging and monetization analysis, including identifying and comprehending clients’ requirements and buying patterns, ideating complex technical solution options, and building cost-competitive pricing scenarios that can deliver competitive customer value and design and develop a repeatable or scalable asset discovery process. Formalize qualification framework, criteria, and thresholds for candidate solutions and evaluate, design, and implement external advisory function, leveraging senior-level relationships within the venture capital space. Analyze various models to encourage employee IP creation and sharing, including incentive programs. Provide feedback, support, and coaching to the product teams. Support data management and program performance and portfolio metrics.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with venture capital or developing monetization strategies in corporate, startup, or other environments for a diverse set of technologies and monetization paths, including spinouts, joint ventures, IP licensing and subscription, IP leasing, and divestiture

-Experience with supporting a service-based organization’s transformation, including product and solutions sales, such as identifying products, evaluating their market viability, and determining appropriate monetization strategies

-Experience with prototyping and pricing technology products

-Experience with building product and VC pipelines, managing funnel, and achieving performance against quota

-Experience with marketing, including strategic marketing, defining go-to-market plans, key messaging documents, defining market focused positioning statements, and channel messaging, market execution, identifying target audiences, building target-awareness messages, identifying messaging channels, and outreach plans, and demand generation, converting market response to demand signals

-Experience with pricing products or solutions sold directly or through a channel, targeted towards the enterprise market

-Experience with codifying the business plan into a detailed financial model to highlight ROI, Breakeven points, and Gross, Operating, and Net margins

-Experience with operations in the form of P&L management or running a diverse product or solutions portfolio

-Ability to work as part of an integrated account and opportunity capture team in a matrixed organization with a collaborative and a team-centric culture

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with identifying market opportunities and converting these into a strategic business plans down to the operational-level details

-Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams

-Ability to display an entrepreneurial spirit, a start-up mindset in a corporate setting, and exceptional communication to comprehend different languages, including strategy, marketing, technical, and financial

-Possession of excellent project management and analytical skills, including stakeholder engagement, data management, and employee incentive models

-MA or MS degree preferred
