Programmer/Data Analyst

Key Role:

Apply programming expertise as part of the Air Force client’s business management mission. Conduct data pulls and analyze data in Air Force and national agency databases, identify anomalies, and conduct periodic updates. Build, select, and display data sets in multiple formats, including graphs, charts, and listings. Analyze gaps and recommend procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy of national agency program databases and access and update manpower databases. Analyze and identify procedural efficiencies to ensure integrity and accuracy of data within national agency and AF Service Cryptologic Component databases and conduct process and gap analysis. Document new technical and procedural processes, capabilities, limiting factors, and recommendations for improvement, execute periodic audits of Air Force and national agency databases, analyze data, identify anomalies or variances, conduct trend analysis and periodic updates, and perform database-maintenance functions. 

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience in software programming

-1+ years of experience with Python

-Experience with analyzing complex data structures or large data sets and developing analytics

-Ability to effectively analyze and synthesize large amounts of data into relevant insights

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph required

-AA or AS degree and 3+ years of experience with database development and management

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with Visual Basic for Applications, VBScript, or JavaScript

-Experience with data analysis software, including SAS, PHP, Java, C#, and MATLAB

-Experience with Microsoft Excel at an advanced level competency, including data validation, Pivot Tables or Pivot Charts, spreadsheet formula-building, data formatting, custom functions, and analytical functions

-Experience with DoD manpower and resource functions

-Experience with developing software to generate reports and visualizations that summarize data sets and provide data driven insights

-Experience with Big Data technologies, including Hadoop

-Experience with Air Force cryptologic career fields, Human Resources data systems, and manpower or budgets

-Knowledge of query-building in IBM COGNOS

-Ability to develop statistical tests to make data-driven recommendations and decisions

-BA or BS degree or 6 years of experience with database development and management in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
