Project Cost Accountant, Senior

Key Role:

Support the Award Fee process, investigate issues within the financial system, prepare various monthly and quarterly entries and account recs, test new processes within the accounting system, support training to other teams within the organization, and support SOX and financial statement audits. Interface with related groups, including accounting policy, general accounting, financial reporting, program management, contract administrators, and accounts receivable to perform external cross–functional audit efforts impacting the firm’s compliance with various rules and regulations. Remain up–to–date on recent accounting and reporting guidance and assist with other operational functions to close the books and support the records of the firm in a timely manner. Perform ad–hoc analysis to support company positions, as required.


Basic Qualifications:
-​3+ years of experience in accounting and applying SEC and US GAAP with an emphasis on revenue recognition

-Experience with Microsoft Office products

-Knowledge of compliance for the requirements of Sarbanes–Oxley, including identifying and documenting key controls and processes, assisting with remediation activities, and supporting related internal controls testing

-Ability to work in a team–oriented and cross–functional environment to exchange information with internal and external customers

-Ability to multi–task and prioritize changing objectives in a fast–paced environment

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree in Accounting or Finance


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with public accounting preferred

-Experience with government contracting and award fees preferred

-Experience with Hyperion financial systems preferred

-Possession of excellent analytical and problem–solving skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-CPA License preferred
