Project Scheduler

Key Role:

Play a key role in the management of a program management office (PMO)'s risk program and perform risk analysis studies for software development projects to support a DoD agency. Analyze the creation of PMO-level risk management processes, procedures, templates, and guidance, including risk management plans and candidate risk templates, present key risks and issues to management in the form of oral and PowerPoint briefings, serve as a risk subject matter expert (SME), and train PMO staff on risk management practices. Assist staff with the development, management, and resolution of risks and issues, prepare high-level risk input for recurring program-level and enterprise-level reporting and maintain the program-level risk and maintain responsibility for developing and managing all components of a project’s schedule from the design phase through implementation. Interpret project requirements and convert them to a work breakdown structure (WBS) using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. Identify and communicate project scope and ensure program milestones and objectives are always met. Ensure effective communication between technical and non-technical functions. Coordinate the development of project status reports that are generated from the project’s schedules and keep management informed of key issues and changes that may impact expected business results.

Basic Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience with performing scheduling for software development and data analytics projects
-2+ years of experience with Microsoft Project
-Knowledge of general risk management practices
-Ability to facilitate conversations with customers to develop a project's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) accurately
-Ability to use Project to translate a well-defined WBS into a project schedule that accurately captures how an entire project scope results in well-defined project activities

-Active TS/SCI clearance required; willingness to take a polygraph exam

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Knowledge of the defense client's organization and structure
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including expertise in presentations
-PMP Certification preferred

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
