Public Relations and Executive Communications Specialist, Lead

Key Role:

Prepare client leadership for speaking engagements, including drafting speeches, talking points, and other documents and speech practice. Monitor and analyze media activity and audience and partner chatter, including social media, news, government, veterans' service organizations (VSO) and military service organizations (MSO) regarding sexual violence prevention and victim assistance in the military. Act as a liaison between the DoD and client leadership, analyze the development of press releases, tough questions and briefing cards, DoD news articles, FAQs, key messages, and fact and info sheets, draft responses to media inquiries, and prepare leadership for media interviews. Draft storyboards and scripts and work with the client to produce public service announcements and DoD news stories. Analyze and implement tactical communication plans for major rollouts, including all congressionally mandated reports, new initiatives, and awards. Strategize with client leadership on innovative ways to communicate violence prevention, victim assistance, survey data, and data analytics. Prepare special or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, including taskers received from military leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with public affairs

-2+ years of experience with consulting

-Experience with working in and leading cross-functional teams

-Experience with working in the DoD community, including issues facing DoD community

-Experience with communicating data analytics, including survey data

-Experience with consulting in collaborative sessions and peer reviews

-Ability to synthesize complicated issues and communicate them clearly

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Ability to be a self-starter and multi-tasker and thrive in a changing, fast-paced environment

-Possession of excellent analysis and data gathering skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-MA degree in Communications or related field

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
