QA Game Tester

Key Role:
Use established quality assurance methodologies and work as the quality assurance tester for applications and games with the development team to evaluate and improve the studio’s software applications. Test, tune, and debug interactive and VR learning applications created by a team of developers, artists, and designers as part of the next generation of learning, training, and courseware for the DoD. Use systematic testing methodologies to analyze each application’s performance against the designer’s intentions, while identifying problems, recommending solutions, and documenting resolutions. Execute test plans, develop innovative solutions to test processes, and ensure the robustness of the applications. Work in a game studio environment using the Unity game engine on Windows, Android, iOS, and the HTC-VIVE. Test for bugs in the software and act as the application’s first audience, reporting on its playability. Participate in Agile production methods, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and reviews and find graphical, audio, copyright, or content issues with a keen eye for quality. This position is located in San Antonio, TX.


Basic Qualifications

-Experience with testing game functionality, usability, and playability through each testing phase

-Experience with test plan development and documentation

-Experience with testing and shipping 3D, PC, HTC-VIVE, or mobile projects

-Experience in coordinating with multi-player test sessions

-Experience with documenting and tracking issues using JIRA software

-Ability to collaborate with the development team as a voice for quality assurance, which may entail leading discussions regarding the status and prioritization of bugs and emulate end user experience and test accordingly

-Ability to meet deadlines with an appreciation for production and marketing schedules

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BS degree or 6+ years of experience with quality assurance and software testing in a game development environment
