Radar Space Systems Technologist

Key Role:

Develop analytical capabilities for radar analysis in support of the space situational awareness mission. Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach and organize the means to achieve technical solutions for complex space resident objects’ signatures, including radar and electro-optical. Comprehend the space surveillance network’s data collection formats and data transfer protocols, including requirements, tasking, and data transfer methodologies. Leverage proficiency in the transformation of analytical insights into algorithms and tools. Work independently or in a team environment and actively collaborate with others to provide support focused on the advancement of operational requirements and workflows. This position is located at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with multiple areas of military, national, civil, or commercial space missions

-5+ years of experience with the NASA Flexible Image Transport System (FITS) or the electro-optical space situational awareness data format

-5+ years of experience with collection architecture and data transfers associated with the space surveillance network, including ground-based electro-optical deep space surveillance system

-5+ years of experience with the Joint Space Operations Center Mission System (JMS) tasking architecture

-5+ years of experience with extracting data using the MIT/LL Sidecard data collection architecture

-5+ years of experience with the generation of space electro-optical images using CDF formats for data exploitation

-5+ years of experience with processing space resident objects’ wideband radar images and narrowband radar metric data

-TS/SCI clearance

Additional Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with algorithm tool development using C++, Java, and MATLAB

-Knowledge of the space situational awareness mission at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center or across the space surveillance network enterprise

-Possession of excellent interpersonal, presentation, data gathering, analytical, and problem-solving skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BA or BS degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics-related field or 5+ years of experience with the space situational awareness mission area
