Radio Systems Engineer

Key Role:

Assist with technical program management for the SINCGARS waveform, including assessment of the current fielded SINCGARS product and proposed and ongoing enhancements to the SINCGARS product as part of SINCGARS modernization. Perform design trade studies, produce radio system documentation, and perform other analysis and design work under the direction of the client lead. Coordinate with the Army client on the development and modernization of SINCGARS. Provide planning and engineering support for fielded and enhanced SINCGARS testing and modelling and simulation, including small scale threat testing, large scale field testing, test anomaly validation, configuration parameter optimization, and evaluation of network architectures. Provide subject matter expertise of the fielded SINCGARS product and modes, including SC/FH/FH2 and PT/CT and the modernized SINCGARS product to radio procurement organizations, both within PM TR, Army, or Joint radio programs, and international standards groups. Provide planning and engineering support for evaluations and certifications of the SINCGARS product, including DoD assessments, JITC certifications, and JTEL or JTNC assessments.


Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with software development, quality assurance, testing, or system design for major military programs

-Experience with executing or witnessing lab test process, developing test plans and procedures, and in reviewing CDRL documentation, and TIR or FRB processes

-Experience with Army or DoD C4ISR community techniques and practices

-Experience with Army acquisition processes, milestones, and products

-Knowledge of embedded systems using General Purpose Processors (GPP), DSP, and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)

-Knowledge of Army force structure, Network Basis of Issue (NBOI), and required tactical voice and data exchanges at BN and below

-Knowledge of IP networking, wireless and wired networks, network design, mobile networks, and network theory

-Knowledge of mobile communications theory and implementation and cryptographic principles, RF, and radio engineering

-Secret clearance

-BS degree in Engineering, Science, CS, EE, Computer Engineering, or Physics


Additional Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with DoD 5000.02 standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures and DoD contracting processes

-Experience with Army tactical radios

-Experience with proprietary waveforms as communication solutions for tactical environments, including TSM, WaveRelay, Chameleon, and ANW2

-Knowledge of the SINCGARS waveform, Soldiers Radio Waveform (SRW), Mobile User Objective System (MUOS), or other tactical radio communications waveforms

-MS degree in CS, EE, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering or science field


Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
