Recruiting and Events Specialist

Key Role:

Support outreach and recruiting at a DoD research and development (R&D) agency, joining a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team of technical experts, contract administrators, briefing specialists, and financial analysts. Leverage event-planning expertise to execute events from development to after-action reporting by providing detailed planning and oversight, tracking budgets, ensuring DoD requirements are met, and communicating with all stakeholders as necessary. Coordinate major annual meetings, including a high-level technology summit focused on collaboration between the DoD, academia, and the commercial sector, simultaneously and efficiently. Determine and implement strategies for recruitment of DoD R&D employees, serving as the primary contact between potential candidates for employment and the DoD agency. Coordinate special projects at the request of the DoD client. Provide quality assurance and content management support for internal and external communications, to include literature designed for Internet sites.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with the Microsoft Office Suite

-5+ years of experience in planning and supporting events, including site selection, contracting for space, coordinating staff and stakeholders, and providing logistical support

-2+ years of experience in personnel management, with a focus on recruitment

-Ability to plan and execute complex meeting agendas and logistics, to include creating and managing schedules, budgets, and risks

-Ability to anticipate requirements, perform proactively, and prioritize work with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment

-Ability to obtain security clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience in a DoD environment

-Experience in overseeing the contracting process for events and verifying that all contracts are properly designed and comply with all government policies and regulations

-Experience interacting with executives and senior leaders from the DoD, academia, and the commercial sector, particularly for the purposes of recruitment

-Experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project

-Ability to manage high priority tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver under pressure

-Possession of excellent time management and organizational skills

-Possession of excellent diplomatic skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Ability to pay strict attention to detail

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree or MA or MS degree

-Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or similar designation

-Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar designation
