Red Hat Linux Systems Administrator

Key Role:

Serve as a Red Hat Linux systems administrator and maintain responsibility for the daily operations and maintenance of unclassified and classified IT systems, including Red Hat Linux version 6 and 7, Red Hat JBoss, MySQL, JMS, Zookeeper, Storm, and SaltStack. Work as part of a dynamic team to keep systems maintained and optimized through daily, weekly, and monthly patching, upgrades, and tuning when system maintenance is required, perform day–to–day operations, and interface with internal and external clients to support system operations. Contribute to and maintain operations documentation, including configuration data, change requests, installation procedures, knowledge base articles, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), engineering diagrams, and test plans. Analyze and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Monitor the system information security posture by installing IAVA updates and patches to ensure information assurance compliance and standards. Serve as the IT lead and systems expert supporting the client, recommending system improvements and efficiencies while identifying and mitigating risks. View current configuration and provide recommendations based on industry best practices and support the implementation of local database Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

Basic Qualifications:

-3+ years of experience with administering Red Hat Linux or CentOS as a primary operating system

-Experience with using ticketing systems, including ServiceNow and JIRA

-Active TS/SCI clearance

-BA or BS degree

-Current Information Assurance (IA) Certification, including IAT III, such as CISA, GCIH, GCED, CISSP or Associate, and CASP and IA Certification Category and Level, including IAW DoD 8570.10–M and BBP 05–PR–M–0002 required

-Current Computing Environment (CE) Certification, including Red Hat Linux Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with working in a Cybersecurity operation center environment

-Experience with using technologies, including VMware, JBoss, JMS, MySQL, Zookeeper, Storm, SELinux, and SaltStack a plus

-Knowledge of Linux iptables, networking configuration, and DNS

-Ability to develop Python scripts
