RedHat Linux Server Engineer

Key Role:
​Develop and apply advanced systems methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems. Plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Analyze, evaluate, and plan method of approach, organize the means to achieve solutions for complex technical problems, conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity, review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects, review projects progress, and evaluate results. Recommend corrections in technical applications and analysis, specify materials, equipment, and supplies required for completion and implementation of technical projects, and evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Provide technical consultation to technical staff or other organizations.


Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.x, RHEL 6.x, or RHEL 7.x management and administration

-Experience with developing scripted solutions in a shell environment, including Microsoft PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ruby

-Knowledge of VMware ESXi 6.x management and administration

-Knowledge of system maintenance, patching, and implementing of NIST and DoD STIG security requirements

-Ability to administer Active Directory domains and forests and identify or resolve performance, reliability, and security issues

-TS/SCI clearance required

-HS diploma or GED required


Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with SE Linux implementation and configuration

-Experience with on-premise and remote installation and maintenance

-Experience with local area network systems, including routers, switches, and firewalls, VLANs, and IP networking concepts

-Experience with RedHat Satellite or Spacewalk

-Knowledge of enterprise Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions

-BS degree preferred; MS degree a plus

-RHSA 6.x or 7.x Certification

-DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Level II Security Certification, including Security+ CE, Linux+, CISSP, CISM, or CASP
